On Sunday, October 1, 2023, Morteza Maghanlou, a civil activist born in 1980, married with three children and residing in Qom Province, was released from the central Qom prison after completing interrogation and being charged. He was freed on bail pending the completion of judicial proceedings.
The release of Morteza Maghanlou took place after his interrogation and indictment at the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office of Qom Province. He is now awaiting notification to attend his trial session.
It was reported that the charges against Mr. Maghanlou during the investigation phase included "propaganda against the regime," "disturbing public opinion," and "actions against national security."
Morteza Maghanlou was arrested at 1 AM on September 9, 2023, at the Mahmoud Abad intersection by the intelligence protection officers of the police force. He was initially taken to the security police detention center of the province and then to the Intelligence Office detention center in Qom Province, where he underwent intensive interrogation for 12 days before being transferred to the central Qom prison.

به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران، روز یکشنبه ۹ مهر ماه ۱۴۰۲، مرتضی مغانلو، فعال مدنی، متولد: ۱۳۵۹، متاهل، دارای ۳ فرزند، ساکن استان قم، محبوس و بلاتکلیف در زندان ساحلی(مرکزی)قم، پس از اتمام مراحل بازجویی ها و تفهیم اتهام، با تودیع قرار وثیقه تا اتمام مراحل دادرسی، آزاد شد.
براساس این گزارش، آزادی مرتصی مغانلو، پس از اتام بازجویی ها و تفهیم اتهام وی در دادسرای عمومی و انقلاب استان قم صورت گرفته و باید در انتظار دریافت ابلاغیه برای حضور در جلسه محاکمه خود باشد.
به نقل از یک فرد مطلع در گفتگو با گزارشگر حقوق بشر در ایران:”اتهامات تفهیم شده به آقای مغانلو در مرحاه بازپرسی(تبلیغ علیه نظام)، ـتشویش اذهان عمومی) و (اقدام علیه امنیت ملی) اعلام شده است.”
لازم به اشاره است، مرتضی مغانلو، ساعت ۱بامداد ۱۸ شهریور ماه ۱۴۰۲، در سه راه محمود آباد، توسط ماموران حفاظت اطلاعات نیروی انتظامی، بازداشت و به بازداشتگاه پلیس امنیت آن استان و سپس بازداشتگاه اداره اطلاعات استان قم منتقل و به مدت ۱۲ روز در آن مکان تحت بازجویی ها فشرده قرار گرفت و سپس به زندان ساحلی(مرکزی)قم منتقل شده بود.
