Saeed Masouri, a political prisoner held in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, has written an open letter protesting the current situation in Iran and criticising the issuance and execution of death sentences against citizens. He described the prevailing atmosphere in the country as a human graveyard due to increased repression and intimidation in society. Saeed Masouri is serving a life sentence for charges of waging war against God through membership in the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran and has been imprisoned since 2000.
Saeed Masouri was arrested on 8 January 2001 in Dezful on charges of membership in the People's Mojahedin Organization. After being transferred to Evin Prison and undergoing interrogation and indictment processes, he was sentenced to death in 2002 for waging war against God. Following an appeal and a retrial, his sentence was reduced to life imprisonment.
On 3 September 2023, this political prisoner, along with a group of other political prisoners, was transferred from Rajai Shahr Prison to Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.
Saeed Masouri, born in 1965 and a doctoral graduate, was transferred from Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj to the Central Prison of Zahedan in Sistan and Baluchestan Province to continue serving his sentence. This decision is part of a systematic project of repression and pressure on political and ideological opponents and human rights activists.
Saeed Masouri's family has issued a statement calling for the intervention of international human rights organisations in his case, seeking his return to Ghezel Hesar Prison or his release.
سعید ماسوری، زندانی سیاسی محبوس در زندان قزلحصار کرج، با نگارش نامه ای سرگشاده به وضعیت کنونی ایران اعتراض کرده و صدور و اجرای احکام اعدام علیه شهروندان را نقد کرده است. او فضای جاری در کشور را به دلیل افزایش سرکوب و ارعاب در جامعه به قبرستان انسانی تشبیه کرده است. سعید ماسوری در حال تحمل محکومیت حبس ابد خود به اتهام محاربه از طریق عضویت در سازمان مجاهدین خلق ایران است و از سال ۱۳۷۹ در زندان به سر می برد.
سعید ماسوری در تاریخ ۱۹ دی ماه ۱۳۷۹ به اتهام عضویت در سازمان مجاهدین خلق در شهرستان دزفول بازداشت شد و پس از انتقال به زندان اوین و طی مراحل بازجویی و تفهیم اتهام در سال ۱۳۸۱، به اتهام محاربه به اعدام محکوم شد. پس از اعلام فرجام خواهی و طی مراحل دادرسی مجدد، حکم وی به حبس ابد تقلیل یافت.
این زندانی سیاسی در تاریخ ۱۲ شهریور ماه ۱۴۰۲ به همراه جمعی از زندانیان سیاسی از زندان رجایی شهر به زندان قزلحصار کرج منتقل شد.
سعید ماسوری، متولد ۱۳۴۴ و دانش آموخته مقطع دکترا، برای ادامه تحمل حبس تعزیری خود از زندان قزلحصار کرج به زندان مرکزی زاهدان در استان سیستان و بلوچستان منتقل شد. این تصمیم در امتداد یک پروژه سیستماتیک سرکوب و فشار بر مخالفان سیاسی و عقیدتی و فعالان حقوق بشر صورت گرفته است.
خانواده سعید ماسوری با انتشار بیانیه ای خواستار مداخله نهادهای بین المللی مدافع حقوق بشر در پرونده او شدند تا از این طریق وی به زندان قزلحصار بازگردانده یا آزاد شود.
