"Mahshid Niroumand Sarvestani," one of the followers of the Bahai Faith, was arrested at the age of 27 and, after six and a half months of imprisonment and torture, was executed along with nine other Bahai women.

Mahshid Niroumand Sarvestani was born on 9 December 1955 in Shiraz. She grew up in a modest family with a father who worked as a technical worker and radiator maker. Mahshid was intelligent and talented from a young age, completing her primary and secondary education with excellent grades. After receiving her diploma, she was admitted to the physics program at Pahlavi University in Shiraz and completed her studies in 1979. However, the university withheld her degree due to unpaid debts. Despite settling the university fees, she did not receive her degree.

In January 1983, a delegation arrived in Shiraz to address public complaints. Mahshid's mother approached this delegation, seeking an investigation into her daughter's detention and the withholding of her bachelor's degree. On 14 February 1983, the central committee for the implementation of the Imam's decree responded to the complaint, stating that actions taken were in accordance with religious and legal standards.

After graduation, Mahshid began tutoring privately. On 29 November 1982, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards raided the homes of Baha'is in Shiraz, arresting 41 individuals, including Mahshid. She was taken to the Shiraz Revolutionary Guard detention centre and interrogated, focusing on renouncing her religious beliefs and identifying other Baha'is. Mahshid defended her beliefs and refused to identify others.

After 26 days without news, Mahshid's family was able to visit her. Mahshid and several other Baha'i detainees were transferred to Adelabad Prison in Shiraz after 45 days. Efforts to force Baha'is to convert continued in this prison. In late January, bail was set for the release of some Baha'i prisoners, but Mahshid and some others refused to post bail.

On 12 February 1983, a local newspaper reported the issuance of execution sentences for 22 Baha'is. The religious judge in Shiraz confirmed this sentence, stating that Baha'is must accept Islam or face execution. Mahshid and nine other Baha'i women were executed on 16 June 1983. Their bodies were not returned to their families and were buried in the Baha'i cemetery in Shiraz.
