The husband of Ms Nasrin Sotoodeh, who is serving his sentence in Evin Prison, went on a hunger strike on Monday 3rd Dey 1403 (23rd December 2024) due to the inadequate conditions he is being held in prison. He has been sentenced to one year of imprisonment.
The husband of Ms Nasrin Sotoodeh, who was arrested on the morning of Friday, 23rd Azar 1403 (13th December 2024) has been transferred to Evin Prison to serve his sentence and is currently in the quarantine ward of this prison.
The American PEN Association condemned the arrest Mr Reza Khandan, Mrs Nasrin Sotoudeh's husband, and called for his immediate release. The literary association called Mr. Khandan's arrest "a retaliatory act against Sotoudeh's family in the midst of the repression of women's rights in Iran." Reza Khandan was arrested by security forces at his home on Friday 23rd Azad 1403 (13th December 2024).
